Facial Reflexology

I am a qualified practitioner in the ‘Bergman Method’ of Facial Reflexology. The ‘Bergman Method’ has been described by beauty editor Sarah Vine as “A contender for London’s best facial treatment.” This is a unique award winning treatment which has become very popular over the last few years because of its many benefits. It is based on “Zone therapy” which is the theory that the body is mapped into zones which extend from the face to the feet.

The face provides a useful tool to read what might be happening internally, and  like the hands and feet, has specific points known as reflexes which correspond to different body systems and organs. By applying pressure to these points a relaxation response is induced promoting the body’s self-healing mechanisms. It helps to achieve optimum health and wellbeing, being particularly helpful in relieving stress and alleviating ailments such as migraines, blocked sinuses and nasal congestion. It is used in many Native American Tribes to treat a variety of health conditions and relieve pain. The treatment can be very powerful in its effects and this may be because of the face’s close proximity to the brain and cranial nerves. Its calming effect is particularly effective  in treating children suffering from conditions such as ADHD.

Face Zone therapy is also a therapeutic beauty treatment which has the added benefit of improving blood flow and lymph circulation, directly to the face. This not only enhances your complexion but also helps to stimulate the production of collagen to give the skin a more youthful and radiant appearance. The sensation of this unique treatment is deeply relaxing, releasing muscle tension in the face which over a period of time can lead to contracted muscles, frown lines and wrinkles. It is sometimes said that we wear our emotions on our face. A relaxed face certainly softens the appearance of facial lines resulting from tension.

Using specially blended essential oils the treatment is very effective in rejuvenating the skin at deeper levels of the epidermis leaving the face glowing and toned.

A course of treatments is recommended to achieve optimum benefits but many feel an improvement after just one session.
